Where to Eat in Grenada During Spicemas 2026

The Grenada spots to eat at during carnival, from oil down to late-night bites.

Where to Eat in Grenada During Spicemas 2026

Carnival runs on food as much as it runs on soca. Between the fetes and the road, you need real meals, and Grenada delivers. This is where to eat during Spicemas 2026, from the dish you have to try to the spots that keep serving when the party runs late.

Start with oil down if you have never had it. It is the national dish, a slow pot of breadfruit, salted meat, dumplings, and callaloo cooked down in coconut milk until it is rich and gone. Find it at a local spot, eat it with your hands if you can, and you will understand Grenada a little better.

Below is our running list of places to eat during carnival week. Every one is a real business on Island Link, so you can see the hours, get directions, and save it for later.

  1. Coconut Beach Restaurant & Bar — Grand Anse Beach. Beachfront classic on Grenada's famous two-mile beach. Caribbean food, fresh seafood, and cocktails with a direct ocean view. A solid stop before a night fete.

  2. Sails Restaurant and Bar — The Carenage, St. George's. Sits directly on the water at the Carenage, right in the heart of the capital's carnival-week activity. International and local menu.

  3. Fish & Chick — Sugar Mill Roundabout, Grand Anse. Grenada's go-to for roti, known island-wide and usually busy for good reason. Order the roti and eat it somewhere you can enjoy it.

  4. Chadon Beni — Le Marquis Complex, Morne Rouge. Roti shop and Caribbean food eatery near Grand Anse. Quick, local, affordable. The kind of place you eat between events.

  5. Konnection Restaurant & Bar — Grand Anse. Specialised in local Grenadian cuisine. If you want oil down or proper Grenadian food during carnival week, this is a solid bet.

  6. Prickly Bay Restaurant & Bar — Lance Aux Epines. Waterfront with live music and a happy hour that works around a fete schedule. Good dinner option if you are staying in the south.

  7. Dodgy Dock Restaurant & Bar — True Blue Bay. Trendy waterfront spot on True Blue Bay. Known for atmosphere as much as food. Works for a long dinner or drinks and a plate before the night starts.

  8. Carib Sushi — Le Marquis Complex, Morne Rouge. Established 2005, award-winning sushi and Teppanyaki Lounge. The pick when you want something outside the street food circuit.

  9. Knife & Fork — Port Louis Marina, Lagoon Road. Fresh international and local cooking at the marina. A short hop from the Carenage and worth it for a sit-down meal on a quieter evening.

  10. La Plywood Beach Bar Café — BBC Beach, Grand Anse. Beachfront, fresh seafood, and live music. A good find if you want something casual by the water without the main tourist strip.

A few tips for eating during carnival. Cash is king at the smaller spots and the roadside vendors, so carry EC dollars. Kitchens can close early or run late depending on the day, so check the profile or call ahead on the big days. And do not skip the street food. Some of the best eating you will do all week is from a grill on the side of the road at 2am.
